Columbia/Shushwap HIV/AIDS Resource Project (CSHARP)

The Columbia Shushwap HIV/AIDS Resource Project, collaborates with existing agencies and services in promoting health,and education with regards to HIV/AIDS risk reduction. CSHARP seeks to increase public awareness of HIV/AIDS and to provide services to persons living with HIV/AIDS, their families,and care-givers in the Columbia Shushwap Region.

  • In 2008, an estimated 2,300 to 4,300 new HIV infections occurred in Canada.
  • By the end of 2008, an estimated 22,300 people in Canada had died with an HIV/AIDS infection.
